The Most Comprehensive Product Line
in the Industry
Zinc dust is most often found in paints and coatings to inhibit corrosion. It is also used by gold and silver miners as a precipitant in the recovery process. Zinc dust is U.S. Zinc’s second-largest product line.
A Single Consolidated Site

A Sustainable Approach
U.S. Zinc is committed to a sustainable approach for our various zinc products: dust, oxide, metal and fines. We produce zinc dust from high-grade and special high-grade (SHG) zinc metal, as well as from zinc secondaries. To produce Type I zinc dust, we rely on bottom dross as a primary source of raw feed. Bottom dross is a zinc by-product generated by the hot dip galvanizing industry. We also use SHG zinc to produce Type II zinc dust.
