U.S. Zinc to raise specialty grade and pelletized zinc oxide prices
June 24, 2013 -
HOUSTON – Officials with U.S. Zinc today announced that prices will increase between 5-7% on its specialty grades of zinc oxide. This would include its high surface area, low surface area, USP and pelletized grades. U.S. Zinc is notifying customers of the change, which will go into effect August 1, 2013. The company’s other zinc oxide grades will not be affected by the increase.
The price increase is being implemented to differentiate between specialty value grades and standard grades. Higher grade products require more production complexity and manufacturing expense.
“We continue to distinguish our products and services to create more value for our customers. This allows us to reinvest in and enhance product development and manufacturing capabilities for our entire customer base,” said U.S. Zinc Vice President of Commercial Tracy Baugh. “Ultimately, the price increase allows us to expand our capacity, meet market demand and maintain the highest quality, enabling our customers to produce the best finished products possible.”
